Physical Education at SJPII is a total sports, fitness and health program. Every student is encouraged to have fun, make friends, and cooperate. Competition is adjusted to a healthy level and sportsmanship is a top priority.
We play it all – the traditional and the exotic! Beginners and advanced enjoy lacrosse, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis, track and field, fitness exercise, and more.
Kindergarten through 5th grade students enjoy a spiraling curriculum that builds on increasing knowledge, movement, strength, coordination, and social skills. The middle school students work to develop skills that will aid them in their growing athletic aspirations, as well as challenge them to learn the value of teamwork and healthy competition. The program is sensitive to individual differences in ability, motivation, and experience. Sports are staggered to grade level and skills and rules of play are modified, accordingly.
